Jeff is a patent attorney with Casimir Jones, S.C., with more than 15 years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and medical device fields. He is a trusted advisor to university, corporate, and start-up clients, for whom he prepares patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement/non-infringement opinions; provides guidance and counseling on the patent-related aspects of licensing and business transactions; and provides strategic advice and management of patent portfolios.
He has significant experience with university technology transfer, including serving as in-house patent counsel with the Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer Office and completing an externship with the University of North Carolina Office of Technology Development. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Duke University and graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
